Understanding the Left Hand Path of Tantra Vāmamārga, or the Left Hand Path of Tantra, is one of the most profound and least understood paths in tantra. The word Vāma in Sanskrit means both “left” and “beautiful.” In the spiritual sense, it refers to the unconventional path, to a way that goes beyond social norms and external rituals to reach inner realization. Vāmamārga has often been misinterpreted as indulgence or rebellion, but in truth, it is about transcendence and spiritual maturity. It teaches the seeker that everything in this universe, light and shadow, sacred and profane, is an expression of the same Supreme Consciousness (Parabrahman). Nothing is outside the divine.

The true essence of vāmamārga Unlike ritualistic or ascetic paths that separate the “pure” from the “impure,” Vāmamārga embraces life in its totality. It is based on the principle that duality exists only in the mind, and through awareness, it can be dissolved. A sincere Vāmamārgi i.e. Seeker on this path learns that reverence, not rejection, is the key to spiritual evolution. What others call taboo, desire, emotion, or material experience is not to be condemned but understood and transformed. This path does not demand conformity; it asks for clarity, self-discipline, and inner worship (antar yāga). Its practices focus on: •	Mantra Japa •	Meditation on chakras •	Guru’s guidance for internal transformation Through these, the seeker moves beyond fear, guilt, and conditioning, recognizing divinity within every aspect of existence.

The misunderstandings about vāmamārga Over time, Vāmamārga has been portrayed as dangerous or immoral because of its association with the Panchamakāra (five ritual symbols). However, true followers know these symbols are metaphors, representing the transmutation of human instincts into divine consciousness. The Kaula Tantra and Rudra Yāmala Tantra describe Vāmamārga as a path for those who are ready to face their own shadows with courage and surrender. It is not a license for indulgence, but a call to spiritual bravery, it is a call to look within, without fear.

Walking the Path with Awareness In Vāmamārga, there are no external restrictions, only internal responsibility. A seeker must maintain purity of intent, reverence for the Guru, and deep humility. The goal is not to escape the world, but to see the divine in all experiences. When practiced with devotion and awareness, this path leads to moksha. It dissolves the walls of judgment and awakens the realization that the same energy that creates the universe resides within you. Let us, therefore, approach Vāmamārga not with fear or judgment, but with awareness, study, and sincerity. Dive deeper. Question deeply. Practice consciously.

Yes, it exists, but it does not mean tying up or stopping your ability to make money, earn, or have a prosperous professional life. What it does mean is that lower energies, especially in your lower chakras and in your Mars (Mangal) center, may get dampened or blocked. The remedy is to revitalize and strengthen those energies. If you practise Tantra under guidance, worship of Maa Dhumavati may help; if not, you may turn to Maa Durga, Maa Chandi, Sri Ganesha, or your Ishta Deva to overcome energetic weakness and increase auspiciousness. In Vedic astrology and tantra, Lakshmi Bandhan (or Lakshmi Bandhana / Lakshmi Bandhan Dosh) is understood as a condition or spiritual binding that restricts the free flow of wealth, prosperity, and abundance in one’s life. It is believed by some practitioners that negative energies or binding rituals (by envious people) may “bandh” (bind) your Lakshmi, the cosmic energy of wealth and auspiciousness, thereby causing blocks, delays, or financial struggles. Most of people get stuck at the heart chakra by childhood trauma, heartbreaks, greed, obsession. Hence healing is important. An unhealed heart turns towards the evil. How many understand what it really is? An existence that dissolves in void. The shiv that belongs to cremation ground, one that is not polished, not safe. The lord that belongs to the grey- the beginning and end, the lord of ashes, smoke of the burning bodies and the howling eerie wind. He is astray and stray, he is where the world looks away. He resides in the flame that burns away the body, the remains and the bones …the deep silence that follows ..and in everything that you fear. Aghor shiv doesn’t come to decorate anything, he is here to strip life, your clothes, your layers of ego and the “I” you cling to …until only truth remains. Selfishness binded with layers of ego cannot see him, those who care just for their existence and ignore all that breathe. Shiva resides in the first and last breathe, waiting for cycles of reincarnations to reveal the ultimate truth, the reality. The cremation ground is not outside, its inside you where you churn your food, your heart where feelings come and go, it’s a place inside you, where attachments come to live and die gradually. One who recognises the cremation within, turns every illusion of self into ash. Only few souls walk this path, the ones who are no longer fooled by the world. The aghors are the ones whose hearts ache for the absolute, they don’t fear to lose everything in the process. Shiva is the only home they have, for a soul that cannot settle for the world on the condition of it. Yet, the world fears him, the broken seek into him, and the ones ready to die, before they did. Long for him and he accepts them without bifurcation…all those who are not accepted and are outcast belong to him. The ashes on the body reminds that everything we cling to is temporary.
