Vaishnava Agamas
The Vaishnava Āgamas also known as The Pancharātra Agamas have been revealed by Vishnu in five nights (pancha-rātra) to dispel ignorance from the world and give seekers a devotional path to attain moksha
The Vaishnava Agamas explain the human body as a temple, with the heart as the sanctum / garbha griha, where Vishnu eternally resides. The Pancharatra Agamas which is a part of Vaishnava Agamas describe Vishnu not only as the Creator & Preserver but also as the supreme inner light / Paramatma within every being.
These texts form the spiritual and ritualistic foundation of Vaishnavism, one of the major traditions in Hindu Dharma. They serve as manuals for temple worship, spiritual practice, yogic discipline, and personal transformation.
The Vaishnava Āgamas offer guidance in:
- Temple rituals including idol worship, prāṇa pratishṭhā, and pūjā vidhi
- Meditation and inner worship / antar-yāga
- Mantra japa, yantra vidyā, and other sacred tools
- Construction of temples based on Vaastu and Agamic principles
- Festivals and Vratas devoted to various forms of Vishnu like Rama, Krishna, Narasimha, and Venkatesha

There are 108 Vaishnava Āgamas, also known as the Pancharātra Āgamas, and they are broadly classified into:
Pancharātra Āgamas
- It is the most widely followed tradition in Sri Vaishnavism, with a focus on Bhakti / devotion, Prapatti / surrender, and the five forms of Vishnu: Para, Vyuha, Vibhava, Antaryāmin, and Archā. It is a guide for the daily rituals and temple worship it is followed in famous temples like Tirupati, Srirangam, and Melkote follow Pancharātra rules
Vaikhānasa Āgamas
- Have originated from the sage Vaikhānasa it is Practiced mainly in South Indian temples and is More focused on ritual purity, Vedic customs, and daily temple worship of Vishnu as Narayana, with Lakshmi as His eternal consort
