Kaal Bhairav Sadhana The Fierce Grace of Shiva That Cuts Through Maya, Fear and Ego

Kaal Bhairav Sadhana: The Fierce Grace of Shiva That Cuts Through Maya, Fear and Ego

Lets understand the story behind Kaal Bhairava and how he came into being cutting off the head of Lord Brahma who was spreading illusion. He is “time” thats unbaised and nondual.
Kal Bhairava is the outermost ring of cosmic energy clouds in the Shivalogam or scientifically Andromeda galaxy. He is also sitting at the Bhupura of the yantra and said to be the dwar rakshak of Kashi- the city of mahadev himself where all vishwadewas reside around him.

What is cosmic cloud? How are they formed?

The cosmic energy rings of cloud(clouds are brain fog/illusion) are generated by the creator as leela This is ishwara’s free energy to make his presence felt. The prime mass of subatomic particles in fluid state at very high temperature covered with mass is considered as Brahman(universe) and the stars in them convert this to elements by fusion process. These elements are used for building the galaxy. We live in Akash Ganga/Milky way. The gravity force of mass hold these clouds in ring formation. Imagine there are so many galaxies in this Universe. You must have noticed, our galaxies look like rings/circular/orbital
These rings of galaxies/clouds of gases formed seem to be beautiful but are very difficult to get through due to their high temperature and zero gravity. They are described as matty hair of God Shiva/kali where Shiva is shunya(no gravitation) but holding the universe on his “Trishul”
Some of these energy clouds/shakti do not have stars in them to consume to convert to elements and they live forever. This is the reason why “maya” stays forever. These clouds are not limited by time and named as Kalbhairava, because he makes visibility clearer through the illusions of cloud without disturbing the discipline of “universe”.
Another energy named VeeraBhadra at high temp burnt outer projections of Brahmalogam called Tripuram. SINCE he emerged from Shiva’s 3rd eye and pure emotions, Lord Shiva got the name as the God who burnt Tripuram.
Tripura refers to the three flying cities of gold, silver, and iron built by the demon architect Mayasura. The cities were destroyed by Lord Shiva in his form as Tripurantaka (“destroyer of Tripura”) using a single fiery arrow.
The adjacent Brahmalogam orbits the Shivalogam very close to it. When Shivalogam moved in this orbit path, Brahmalogam collided with it and its energy clouds were cut off by the outer ring of Shivalogam. This is described as Kalbairava cut off the head of God Brahma. This means ego and “illusion” gets replaced with pure consciousness and wisdom when one worships Kaal Bhairava. Here, maya- Tripura Sundari(the energy cloud) is the most beautiful goddess across the three worlds or three states of consciousness (waking, dreaming, and deep sleep) is in the form of guru/higher consciousness. And, Kaal Bhairava along with Ma Kali are the supreme cosmic union of absolute energy (Shakti) and eternal time (Mahakala)- that aligns this energy into complete stillness representing that even god’s don’t get spared if they turn towards Adharma. MAYA can get biased- as she is mother of demons and gods, but Kaal Bhairav is fierce, non dual and represents “time” to create balance.
Since these clouds are so powerful due to the presence of Goddess in the form of energy(maya) and God as mass in outer cover, living beings shall forever live and worship them.

Bhairav means one who looks fierce but also protects from fear.

Bhairav is also called Dandapani which means the one who punishes sinners.

Bhairav is also called Swasava i.e. one whose vehicle is a dog.

Bhairav is also called Rudravatar.

With the grace of Bhairav, one gets quick relief from the hassles of court.

Bhairav’s work is to protect Shiva’s city Kashi and to catch the criminals of the society and present them for punishment.

Kaal Bhairav Jayanti is celebrated on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Margashirsha month.
