In Tantra Astrology, which is different from general Vedic astrology, progeny is not seen only as a 5th house problem. It is seen as a problem of Shakti Tattva. The 5th house is the house of Mantra, Yantra and Garbha, and difficulty in progeny is seen as a blockage in the transmission of that Shakti.
This is how a Tantra-based astrologer checks it:
The 5 Forms of Shaapa that block Putra Bhava
Classical texts like Prashna Marga and Tantra Samucchaya mention 5 curses specifically for Santana Badha:
a) Sarpa Shaapa – Naga Dosha
The most common in Tantra.
Signs: Rahu in 5th, or 5th lord with Rahu, Jupiter with Rahu/Ketu, Ketu in 9th, or Rahu-Moon in D7.
Tantra Astrology sees it as: Affliction to the Kundalini and lineage energy. The Nagas represent the ancestral womb energy.
It is not about a literal snake, but about unappeased pitra / kshetra devata.
b) Pitru Shaapa
Signs: Sun + Saturn or Sun + Rahu afflicting 5th, 9th, or D7 Lagna.5th lord in 9th with malefics, or 9th lord in 8th.
Tantra Astrology sees it as: Blockage from the paternal line. The lineage fire – agni – is not reaching the next generation.
c) Matru Shaapa / Matrika Dosha
This is very specific to Tantra.
Signs: Moon debilitated or afflicted in 5th, Venus with Rahu/Mars in 5th, 4th lord going to 8th, or Moon in 8th with malefics. In D7, Moon or Venus very afflicted.
Tantra Astrology sees it as: Disturbance in the Kshetra – the field. The 7 Matrikas are protectors of Garbha. When they are disturbed, implantation or sustenance becomes difficult.
d) Brahma Shaapa / Guru Shaapa
Signs: Jupiter debilitated, retrograde in 5th. Jupiter + Saturn or Jupiter + Rahu in 5th/9th. Jupiter as Putra Karaka in Mrityu Bhaga or combust.
* Tantra Astrology sees it as: The Guru tattva is weak. Santana is a diksha – the child chooses the parent. When Guru is cursed, that connection does not happen.
e) Bhoota / Preta Badha
* Signs: Strong 8th house connection to 5th, Ketu in 5th without benefic aspect. Moon + Rahu + Saturn together in 5th/8th, 5th lord in 8th in Gandanta.
Tantra Astrology view: Garbha is seen as highly sensitive to subtle energies. 8th is the house of hidden entities.
What a Tantra Astrologer Checks in D7 – Saptamsha?
In Tantra, D7 is the Garbha Chakra:
D7 Lagna: Is it in Khara, Sthira or Ubhaya?
Is D7 Lagna lord in 6/8/12 or with Rahu/Ketu?
Beeja – male chart and Kshetra – female chart:
Sun+Venus+Jupiter and Moon+Mars+Jupiter sphutas. If they fall in 6/8/12 in D9, the mantra sees it as weak Beeja/Kshetra.
5th from Jupiter in D7: This is seen as the seat of Santana Deva.
If D1 shows affliction and D7 Lagna is also in 6/8/12 from D1 Lagna, Tantra texts call it Santana Avarodha.
Why Tantra Sees Delay, Not Just Denial?
In Tantra, childlessness is rarely seen as permanent. It is seen in 3 layers:
Prarabdha: Past karma linked to 5th and 9th
Kriya: Present kshetra / beeja weakness – hormonal, medical side which Tantra acknowledges
Agami: Whether a jeeva is ready to enter – checked from Jupiter’s transit and D7 dasha
Rahu in 5th, for example, is not read as “no child” in Tantra. It is read as – unconventional route – IVF, adoption, mantra-siddha child, or a child after a break in lineage.
What is the Remedial Approach in Tantra Shastra?
Authentic Tantra never uses fear, tamasik bali, or ucchatana for Santana.
The focus is always sattvik:
Santana Gopala Upasana:, sadhna and Havan: Considered the main mantra for Putra Bhava – Krishna as a child.
Naga Shanti and Kshetra Shanti: Done to pacify the Sarpa / Kshetra Dosha, not to harm.
Matrika Pooja: Especially Shashti Devi, who is the protector of garbha in Tantra.
Japa of Putra Karaka Jupiter: To strengthen Jeeva tattva.
A genuine Tantra margi will always ask you to first get medical evaluation done, then do shanti / sadhana with a proper Guru, and will never ask for anything tamasik.
